The Remains of the Day, Kazuo Ishiguro #

I was looking for books similar to "Stoner" and found many people mentioning this particular book. I have read it while traveling and can confirm it really strikes similar chords. The book tells a story of an old-fashion English butler and his memories about his life's work. What makes this book unique is it's emphasis not on what is said or what happened, but specifically on what is missing - namely, what could have been. Recommended!

"The evening's the best part of the day. You've done your day's work. Now you can put your feet up and enjoy it."

I have read Pluto 4th and 5th volumes, both were very good and I am on my way to finish this series by the end of next week.

Serbia #

Last sunday I left Poland for a work trip to Belgrade. It was my second time in the capital of Serbia and I enjoyed the city more than last time - probably because I had more occasions to sightsee and just walk around the city. Also the weather was sunny and we ate a lot outdoors, it definitely played a role in my positive experience. I have one strong recommendation - Smokvica Jovanova restaurant. I think I ate there like five times during seven days visit. Each time I took different dish and it was always delicious! I found only one minor drawback about Belgrade: the Serbs still smoke a lot and everywhere they can.
